No âmbito da cerimónia de encerramento do Festival Curtas Vila do Conde, a curta da realizadora Anca Miruna Lăzărescu «Apele tac/Silent river» foi duas vezes vencedora, sendo distinguida com o Prémio do Público “Mateus Rosé Sparkling” para o filme com a melhor média de votação atribuída pelos espectadores e Prémio RTP2 Onda Curta, constando na aquisição dos direitos de exibição para o programa Onda Curta, da RTP2.

Performance artist Ioana Paun takes up the ICR Attic Arts residency to undergo a Public Art and Site Specificity project called X Street - The live sound of the hammer-throw. The project focuses on the social and sound landscape and lifestyle implications of the 2012 Olympic Games reconstruction plans in the Hackney area, East London. Project partners: Hackney Wick Community Centre, Goldsmiths College and Artsadmin.

One could only fear entering a festival competition featuring a Romanian short film lately. Four years after the winning double bill in Berlin and Cannes (with Coffee and Cigarettes and Traffic), history has been repeating itself in 2008, with A Good Day for a Swim and Megatron winning golden awards in both major festivals.

Some of the best Romanian movies of all times will be presented in Israel, in the Romanian Film Retrospective organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, in partnership with the Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa Cinematheques, with the support of the Romanian Film Center and the National Film Archieve - Bucharest Cinematheque.
